St. Petersburg Stockyard

65 Zabalkansky Prospekt, St. Petersburg

The two bronze bulls flanking the doors of the City Stockyard on the southern outskirts of Petersburg, beyond the Obvodniy Kanal, were the work of sculptor Vasily Demut-Malinovsky, who is reputed to have seen the two bulls strolling in his workshop in a dream.

The bulls are still to be found, at 13 Moskovsky Highway, in a less glorious state of old age.
